index is a personal AI assistant you talk to through Meta glasses, or type to on your iPhone. It runs on your own Kubernetes cluster with your own Anthropic key, so the conversation goes nowhere else.

How long should I steep green tea?

Two to three minutes, with water around 80 °C. Any longer and it turns bitter.

What happens when you ask

The answer streams back sentence by sentence, so you hear the first part while the rest is still being written. On Ray-Ban Display it also appears in the lens. Typed questions get a text reply in the app.

  1. Create the cluster

    A bucket for Terraform state, then the network, GKE Autopilot cluster, image registry and static IP.

  2. Push the server image

    Tag it with the git commit, then put that tag in agent/k8s/kustomization.yaml.

  3. Install Argo CD and hand it the repo

    After this, Argo CD manages itself and the server from git.

  4. Add your Anthropic key

    Secrets live in Google Secret Manager, never in git. Terraform already created the secret and generated the app token; you add the key.

  5. Point your domain at it

    An A record for your API host to the static IP from terraform output ingress_ip. The HTTPS certificate is issued automatically, usually within an hour.

  6. Connect the iPhone app

    In the app, open Settings and enter your server address and the token from gcloud secrets versions access latest --secret index-token. Then connect your glasses from the menu.
